Working towards a Smart City<\/strong><\/h3>

To innovate, experiments and new collaborations are necessary. Together with market parties, startups, knowledge institutions, fellow governments, residents, entrepreneurs, and social organizations, the municipality is trying out smart solutions in several parts of the city.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

Under the name SHIELD, the Police and the municipality of The Hague collaborate on technological innovations in the security domain. The municipality of The Hague collaborates with partners, such as the Impact Coalition Safety & Security (ICSS), on safe and innovative smart city solutions in the Netherlands. This platform develops digital cities where safety and innovation converge, using technology that promotes the well-being of everyone.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

In the Startup in Residence Intergov program, governments challenge startups to pitch innovative solutions for social challenges. The startups with the best solutions are selected for the program. Over a period of 5 months, entrepreneurs participate in a valuable innovation program to prepare their solutions for implementation in collaboration with the government. The goal is to co-create and achieve faster impact!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

De Dutch Societal Innovation Hub (DSIH) is een Europees programma dat de maatschappelijke impact van digitale innovaties bij de gemeenten en provincies wil vergroten. Gemeente Den Haag neemt deel aan de kennisgroep citizen science van DSIH. De kennisgroep heeft een aantal kennisproducten ontwikkeld, zoals een drietal magazines<\/a> over citizen science en verschillende werkvormen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

The Dutch Metropolitan Innovations (DMI) ecosystem is a collaborative network focused on smart and sustainable urban development. The Municipality of The Hague plays an active role in this ecosystem by participating in various projects and initiatives within the Living Lab, where innovative solutions are tested and developed to enhance the quality of life in the city.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

The Municipality of The Hague is participating in Smart Gardens (Pientere Tuinen). Smart Gardens directly contribute positively and concretely to a green and healthy living environment. It is a national participation project. The goal is to collect data at 5,000 measurement points in private gardens of existing and new homes nationwide and, based on this, provide tailored advice to garden owners with tips and information.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

In public spaces, the municipality of The Hague deploys sensors, with a focus on and a commitment to transparency regarding the collected data.
