The tender for the Slim Strandnet innovation project, a joint initiative by the Municipality of The Hague and Stedin, has been nominated and has reached the finals of the\u00a0European Innovation Procurement Awards<\/a>. The project is now among the top three finalists and is in the running for prize money ranging from \u20ac25,000 to \u20ac75,000. The winners will be announced on April 2, 2025, in Brussels.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Forward-Thinking Goals<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The nomination of Slim Strandnet confirms the forward-thinking nature of the project, which aims to develop a digital energy network that is both smart and autonomous. This innovation\u2014driven by the Procurement Department and Living Lab Scheveningen of the Municipality of The Hague\u2014focuses on advancing a sophisticated digital infrastructure. It integrates data infrastructure, dashboards, predictive models, and control mechanisms to enhance not only energy efficiency but also the sustainability and reliability of the energy supply. Special thanks to Roelof Davids and Giulia van Wijk from the Procurement Department, and Patrick Segeren from Living Lab Scheveningen, for their valuable input and for presenting the project to the Horizon Committee.<\/p>\n

Our nomination in the top three of the European Innovation Procurement Awards is a wonderful recognition of the collaboration between Innovation and Procurement. This acknowledgment is especially due to the joint efforts in successfully tendering the control application for the Slim Strandnet project. The project demonstrates that, with the right collaboration and approach, innovative products can be effectively procured.<\/p>\n
