Next year, Scheveningen will become the stage for the European Robotics League (ERL), a leading European event celebrating innovation in robotics and smart technology. The 2026 edition is hosted by the Municipality of The Hague, in close collaboration with euRobotics, the Province of South Holland and the City of Rotterdam.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

The European Robotics League brings together international teams, researchers and technology companies to test and showcase the latest applications of robotics in a real urban environment. The event also features workshops, live demonstrations and discussions about the future of robotics. It will take place from 12 to 15 May 2026 in Scheveningen and is free to attend.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Smart robots in action<\/strong><\/h4>

During the ERL 2026, the focus will be on the practical use of robotics in everyday life. Think of robots that can navigate the city independently, collaborate with people in public spaces, and perform tasks such as inspection, logistics, assistance and monitoring.<\/p>

Examples include maintenance robots inspecting the Scheveningen Pier, drones delivering defibrillators on the beach, and smart delivery and cleaning robots. The participating teams are challenged to develop innovative solutions that contribute to a smarter, safer and more liveable city.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Living Lab Scheveningen as a testing ground<\/strong><\/h4>

The competitions and demonstrations will take place in Living Lab Scheveningen, The Hague\u2019s real-life testing ground where technology and innovation come together in public space. With its boulevard, beach, sea and urban dynamics, Scheveningen offers the ideal environment to explore how robotics can work in practice.<\/p>
